We are currently seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Shift Lead/Assistant to join our team and support the Store Manager in daily store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Store Manager with opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure all store protocols and procedures are followed during shifts.
• Securely lock up the store at the end of each day.
• Complete closing managerial checklists accurately.
• Accurately count cash drawers at shift start and end.
• Perform end-of-day cash drops and maintain precise financial records.
• Lead and supervise Counter Associates during shifts.
• Provide guidance and support to maintain excellent customer service standards.
• Train new hires and assist with ongoing staff training.
• Motivate and encourage team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Assist customers with purchases and provide informed recommendations.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
• Promote bakery items to enhance customer satisfaction and boost sales.
• Develop strong knowledge of the menu and products.
• Oversee restocking of display cases and shelves.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or issues to the Store Manager.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the store, including counters and seating areas.
• Supervise cleaning of dishes, utensils, and bakery equipment.
• Ensure timely disposal of garbage and recyclables.

• Represent Sugar Bliss positively to customers and the community.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and dress code.
• Demonstrate a professional attitude and strong work ethic at all times.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Assist in other bakery areas as needed to support smooth operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Prior experience in customer service or retail, preferably within a bakery or foodservice setting.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and effective team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
• Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to take on responsibilities beyond the job description as needed.
