As a Sales Associate within Barbizon’s Products and Expendables Division, you will be responsible for selling and marketing our product lines while proactively prospecting for new customers. Your success will be measured by meeting or exceeding sales quotas through effective communication and relationship-building via phone, email, and in-person site visits, demos, and meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain primary contacts by engaging customers through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits to introduce Barbizon’s new and existing product lines and services.
- Research, schedule, and conduct in-person visits with current and prospective customers to build trust, showcase relevant products, and offer expert solutions.
- Collaborate with customers to assess their needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Plan and execute product demonstrations, providing detailed product information and pricing as requested.
- Negotiate pricing within established guidelines to close sales effectively.
- Accurately enter orders and route paperwork as necessary.
- Cultivate long-term customer relationships and generate repeat business through timely and effective follow-ups.
- Maintain a high conversion rate from sales leads to profitable sales.
- Manage product returns and refunds in accordance with company policy.
- Perform additional customer service tasks such as stock checks, order processing, and shipping confirmations.
- Maintain accurate customer and contact records in Salesforce, including capturing new leads, updating profiles, tracking interactions, managing sales opportunities, and ensuring data integrity.
- Assist the Accounting team with collections of aged receivables as needed.
- Meet with vendors during office visits to expand product knowledge and refine sales techniques.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and other sales associates on joint calls and customer visits.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and Barbizon-sponsored events as required.
- Travel locally and long distances as necessary.
- Support the Regional Sales Manager in developing and implementing sales and marketing plans within your sales region.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven sales expertise with strong product knowledge and a track record of driving revenue growth.
- Background in retail or customer service, emphasizing excellent customer experiences.
- Demonstrated success in phone sales or telemarketing, with the ability to engage and convert leads effectively.
- Experience in the lighting, entertainment, or architectural lighting industry is preferred but not required.
